ABOUT VAGABOND CULTURE

Vagabond Culture started long before there was a homestead.

Now located on Long Island, NY, our story started somewhere else entirely. With a BA in Marine Biology and Ocean Science, years spent traveling and studying herbalism, and years spent teaching, eventually settling here led me aviantology, work alongside local laboratories.

Being casually interested in something has never been much of a strength around here.

Which probably explains the name.

Today, Vagabond Culture is a small homestead where science and nature dictate most of what we do. Our work spans poultry and gamebird breeding, long-term genetic projects, heirloom growing, herbalism, and whatever else has managed to become interesting enough to consume entirely too much of our time.

Our breeding programs are intentionally slow. We hatch, grow out, observe, and prove our genetics over generations, occasionally working with laboratories when something deserves a closer look. We aren't particularly interested in doing something simply because that's how it's always been done.

This isn't a perfectly manicured version of homesteading. It's a working, evolving place built from years of travel, education, research, and a genuine love for the natural world.

Somewhere along the way, Vagabond Culture finally put down roots.
